Brad Wheeler, P.E.

Director of Engineering

Brad leads engineering strategy, product development, and technical execution across the organization, partnering closely with manufacturing and field operations to deliver high-performance equipment and drive continuous improvement.

A licensed Mechanical Engineer, Brad holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University and an MBA from the University of Minnesota. With extensive experience at Akkerman, he brings a strong blend of technical expertise and business leadership. He is passionate about developing talent, strengthening organizational capability, and advancing trenchless construction technology.

Outside of work, Brad enjoys spending time with his family, often coaching his children’s youth sports teams. He is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hiking, canoeing, and fishing. One of his favorite destinations is the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness, where he values the opportunity to unplug and connect with nature.
