Jay Zimmerman

VP, Chief Financial Officer

Jay Zimmerman is the Vice President-Chief Financial Officer for Akkerman, Inc.

As VP-CFO for Akkerman, Inc. since 1998, Jay has played an important role in the company’s stability through the years with his contributions to financial strategy, planning and related analysis.  In his position, Jay oversees all risk management, banking and finance activities for Akkerman.  In addition, he also directs the accounting, human resources and employee benefits functions within the company.

Prior to joining Akkerman, Jay spent 11 years at Hormel Foods, where he held various positions including internal auditor, administrator of the accounting information system and finally serving as Treasurer/Controller of one of Hormel’s subsidiary companies.

Jay received his Bachelor of Science in Managerial Accounting from the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay, explaining his over-the-top love for the Green Bay Packers.  He holds a Certificate in Managerial Accounting (CMA) and also holds a CPA certificate (inactive).  In his free time, he follows sports and the stock market, and enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and their dogs.
