Capitol Tunneling was awarded a Sub-Contract from E.S. Wagner on ODOT Project 277 (18) in Toledo Ohio in 2018 and patterning with Team Akkerman was vital to the project’s success. The installation consisted of 2600 feet of 66″ casing utilizing the Akkerman 540 series 2 TBM, the 5200 Pipe Jacking unit, and a wide range of support equipment. Not only did the equipment outperform our expectations, the technical support went above and beyond from the start. From onsite training at Akkerman’s facilities in Minnesota, to the project site training by expert field technicians, they provided support and expertise from set up to completion.
