Brierley’s Cottage Grove, MN team recently had the opportunity to tour Akkerman Inc.’s primary manufacturing facility in Brownsdale, MN. Alongside our partners at Barr Engineering, we explored the factory floor and gained firsthand insight into how Akkerman designs, builds, and maintains their broad range of trenchless equipment—including pilot tube, MTBM, TBM, and more—for clients nationwide and across the globe.
The tour featured TBMs in various stages of construction and assembly, from cutting steel plates to assembling digger shields. Our team also observed an MTBM that had just returned from the field for maintenance—fresh off a project in Oakdale, MN, where Brierley designed elliptical, shotcrete-supported shafts to support the contractor’s tunneling drives.
We also visited Akkerman’s Training and Development Grounds, where our staff had the chance to operate a pilot tube machine and experience the hands-on training they provide to contractors and industry professionals.
We’re excited to showcase two new project videos featuring our equipment on the jobsite. These videos highlight the craftsmanship, performance, and partnerships that bring every project to life.
We’re always looking for great visuals to help tell your story. If you have high-quality jobsite photos or video of your Akkerman equipment in action, we’d love to see them! Submitted content may be featured in future project videos or marketing materials.
